Hi guys! Today, I am going to teach you how to set up a cozy and functional home office that will improve your productivity and help you to save time.
Suddenly, we all have been obligated to work at home, and it has caught up a lot of people unprepared, but look that, this is a trend that has come to stay. And so that the work from home flow well, it is important to have a pleasant space with a minimum structure to perform our activities with comfort and productivity, after all, it is so easy to disperse when in home office. Is not it really? So, let’s go there!
Create a space to set up your home office
It is important to create an appropriate environment inside your house, if you do not have an available room to do a functional home office, find out a little corner in your bedroom, even on the balcony (since this be of glass) and prepare the space to be your workstation. Indeed, nothing is worse than being a nomad in your own home, by working each day in a different place.
Ergonomic is fundamental to get a functional home office
Comfort is important, but in case of a home office, ergonomic is fundamental. An ergonomic office reduces tiredness at the end of the day, avoids pains and deceases linked to work and, as consequence, increases productivity. To facilitate your life, I have prepared precious ergonomic tips:
Five tips to have an ergonomic and comfortable home office.
- Table or workbench
Hight about from 65 to 70 cm, with a minimum depth of 50 cm and 120 cm of width.
- Comfortable chair
The perfect office chair needs to have arms, a high backboard, and regulable seat. But also, it does not compensate to have a wonderful chair and to seat in the wrong way!
Keep a good posture, with a straight back and supported at the chair. To avoid pains in the neck and shoulder, the arms must be ever supported, doing a 90-grade angle.
- Feet on the ground
Like the Arms, the legs must also form a 90-grade angle. Use support to the feet in case it is not able to reach the ground.
- Computer
Arrange the monitor exactly in front of you and keep an arm of distance. About the height, the superior side of the screen should not be over your eyes line.
- Good ligthing
White light is the most indicated, if possible, keep worktable positioned under a point of light, in this way it will avoid shadows. Have a workbench lamp if you need focused lighting.
Perfect colors for using at home office.
The clear colors reflect the light and lighting the environment, this is a great choice. I recommend neutral tones that are coziest, as ice, greige (grey + beige), grey, cream, and pinkish gray, reserve strong colors for some specific objects.
Organize your home office and have more productivity
Beside affording visual comfort, an organized home office improves productivity. Let objects always at hands; mobile, note blocks, pens, water, coffee, and everything you may need. Is this way, you avoid distractions and loss of time looking for things. Because, guys, time is precious. If your office be organized, you make more and get time to enjoy family, friends and doing those pleasure things.
I have a video in Youtube, where I show how you can arrange your home office and have more productivity. Look at there.
And finally, put your personality in this space, as by the way in all rooms, after all, your house must express who you are.
If you want to inspire yourself, at there on Youtube there is a video of home office project that I have developed, it is full of memories, decorated with objects of travels and pictures. It is worth.
